There's a helicopter company in Dubai called aerogulf. They're flying Bell 212 (the one that look like a 2 engined UH1) and some sikorsky's as well. I think the pay is around 8.000 Dhs or so. Don't know exactly what they're since I don't fly choppers but you might find more about them doing a search one pprune
Also another chopper company out of the sultanate of Oman I think they'll pay US$ 200,- per working day or something like that.

Basically you have:
Abu Dhabi Aviation - in AD - Bell412
AeroGulf in Dubai - 212 and 412, some 206 still I think. But not reknown for a good employer.
Dubai Police - A109, 412s. - but local pilots and expat engineers.
Gulf Helis in Doha (Qatar)
Oman operator is an extension contract from Gulf helis - I think.
Good luck

Hi nzl75. You are getting some bad and inaccurate advise here. Aerogulf do not fly Sikorsky and the pay is double what was quoted from Coastrider 26. There is no civil helicopter company in Oman.
As far as Jango's advice goes he is a bit out of date. Gulf Helicopters have not flown in Oman in the last four years. Any helicopter work there is carried out by either Aerogulf (Dubai) or Abu Dhabi Aviation.
As far as Aerogulf not being a good employer (Jango); they are a very good employer indeed but have had a few very bad employees in the last few years. Not so now.
It is all, though, academic, as you would need 2,000 hours and a type rating to be considered. All the best to you

Aeorgulf do good work shame they have never realised their full potential....I did say I was unsure of the Gulf Heli situation in Oman..no need to bite!
Forgot about Horizon Air in Al Ain, new training school, 206 fleet. Have big plans.
