Air India- IFALPA imposes recruitment ban

Last week IFALPA has at the request of the Indian Pilots Guild imposed a recruitment ban.

Air India is trying to recruit contract Pilots inorder to create a non-unionised slave work force. DEC's are being recruited when there are several experience FO's with over 10 yrs in the company.

Senior management pilots at Air India have always maintained a
Commander shortage in the hope to get the govt to raise their retirement age to 62 from the present 60. And now they have slowed down command training of their FO's further to create further shortage.

Since the last few yrs industrial relations with the Pilots have been very poor. The management has violated almost all bilateral agreements with the union. Several cases are pending in courts. With the Govt machinery behind the airline no hearing in court takes place with only postponement of dates.

Pilots morale is at its lowest with very poor working conditions. Safety is frequently compromised with no regard to FDTL and crew rest. The DGCA is turning a blind eye to all this since the govt can do almost anything. Its the law of the jungle out here.

Good luck to all those who have applied. The coloured Indians are thirlled to get whites to work under them. The days of the British Raj are finally over.

Yeppa !! Let's keep it all inhouse so there's no way in the Earth we shall let the system slip on to a standard where there shall be respect for experience to get what they deserve !!
Ahh the expats might even introduce the system where the recruitment might start happening with experience and all that !!

Oh God, we can't have that.

The British Left It.... We Perfected It

Just my 2 cents worrrrrth
