Air Universal

I heard this company based in AMMAN do not pay the salaries or with 2 to 3 months delay. During the Hadj they were taking off with 10 to15 tons overweight and they asking their crew to be between 24 and 36 hours on duty. Could somebody confirm

Question

I wonder from what crewmember did you hear this ?, otherwise you are just running arround with stupid rumors, I worked there and I did not see any of this, I got paid on time, and the extra 30-40 tons, well you must be either stupid or you dont fly jets, because 30-40 tonns overweight, the runway will be too short to take off, and if you have been flying Hajj before, well then you know that you cannot trust 100% in what the Saudi put on the load sheet, but use commond sense.

So dont spread second hand rumors.

I must say that I only worked with them on a ground handling capacity. the Flt crews were generally a good bunch!

IMHO, this airline is an accident waiting to happen. We have ATC transcripts of a flight where the crew were totally unable to do the most simple form of approach. They actually managed to screw it up twice, at one stage they even wanted to do a 360 turn to establish their position, excellent idea, especially as they were in the middle of a valley. They finally received radar vectors from a non-radar qualified controller.

We certainly wont be using their services again.

Thumbs up Good bunch of people

I was working there for this years hajj, and yes, its is a very good bunch of people and very professional, Capt, FOs and FEs, also the Ground personnel is a good bunch.

Regarding the 360 that somebody mentioned, well that is just a guy who is living of 2nd. hand information, and just find it great walking around with rumors of something that he have heard, well, well.

The 360 that one of our captains made was due to the fact that Khartoum did not let them descent due to other traffic in lower level, and if he had ever been to africa to fly, then he would know that the radars ( if there is a radar ), is in very poor condition, and due to collitionprotection they will not let you descent. so therefore the 360.

But sure this guy was there, or he knows somebody who was there, dont write **** about people if you dont know the facts.

Appears that the UK CAA have some misforgivings about this airline to the extent of refusing to issue a Foreign Airline Permit

If the practice of overweight take-offs is occuring maybe a look at the consequences will realign the thought process

Heavydriver:

What is Air universal up to now? do they wait for the next hajj?
I heard they plan to acquire more 747-200s.
I think they should get the Jordanain AOC to get some good business.

I never mentioned Africa?

Heavydriver, thanks to your abusive private message i have lost all interest in this discussion. If you had actually shown an interest in accepting that your company had made a mistake and was willing to learn from it, i would have taken the time to scan the transcripts.

You obviously dont believe that they exist, it will be interesting to see if our regulatory authorities agree with you.

Good Luck.
