What happened to the Passport Stamp Thread???

It's just dissapeared???!!! Thought it was providing important information to people visiting the Middle east. Why would the moderator possibly find that thread offensive???

You must be mistaken, it was never here. A bit too much like freedom of speech apparently.

But surely even though this is a Middle East Forum, it doesn't have to meet the same censorship restrictions that we are subjected to here. After all PPRUNE is supposed to be a place you can discuss contentious issues, but apparently not.

Subjected to censorship every day living here, and now also on PPRUNE... whats the world coming to.

I took it off - not the moderator. I thought it had run its course. Thanks to all.

Thanks for letting them know the truth Rav.

For the record you're the first person ever to have the courtesy to do that.

..... meanwhile back at the conspiracy theory I hear Danny has been offered places at EK and Qatar just to shut this forum down

Regards to all
Rob

Ravintola thanks for letting me know. But why take it off. You may have found out what you wanted to know but in 3 months time when someone else has the same question instead of doing a search and finding the answer we will have to reanswer the same old question. Just leave it and let it run off the end of the forum list. I think that while you may have started the thread, it becomes everybodys once they contribute.

I don't mind reinstating it but I think, once deleted, only admin can put it back on. PPRUNE Towers, can you oblige?

Wouldn't help as most people just re-ask the question rather than do a search. Then the rabble jump on his back about how "this was done in a thread here like 6 months ago..."
it becomes everybodys once they contribute
This some kind of like red, pinko, commie, socialist kinda scene you're advocating ANSA?!?!?!

For the record I could've sworn I saw Elvis lurking about the ME forums around the time this thread "vanished".

For the record I never bother to go back and inform "The Others" of my thread dissolutions. Guess that makes me part of the problem...

Yawn....

What a tosser! Not communist or socialist. Just common courtesy. You may start a thread, and feel that your initial concern was addressed. But many other people, as is their right, have begun a healthy discussion related to your initial question/concern/observation. So yes you have the right to close down a thread you started whenever you want but, why??? If it has run its course it will fall off the bottom of the forum threads page, if it is still humming along, why not let it.

ANSA

Just common courtesy.
So that's what you gave PPRuNe when you stated:

But surely even though this is a Middle East Forum, it doesn't have to meet the same censorship restrictions that we are subjected to here. After all PPRUNE is supposed to be a place you can discuss contentious issues, but apparently not.

Subjected to censorship every day living here, and now also on PPRUNE... whats the world coming to.

As you see from Rav's explanation, it sometimes pays not to jump to the wrong conclusion

Do what every one else has done over the last 30 years or so. Explain the sitch to your passport agency and get another passport for use in the ME (excluding the 'zionist entity').

Ghost

P.S. This message will delete itself and the entire thread after 10 seconds. 10,9.....

Right, my mistake. There is freedom of speech in the ME.

Cool

ANSA, you may delete this thread, as your question has been answered.

Note to Ravintola:- Don't end the suspense so early next time, some of the theorists had yet to post their best thesies!! (Maybe you could delete your first 2 posts, leaving PPT's dangling as a bait )
