Question How's Qatar Airways???

Hi Guys,

I need to know more about Qatar Airways. The Company, working conditions, pay structure, benefits and perks, living in Doha, renting a apartment or house, buying a car, the people there and all we work with, routes, nighstop hotels etc.

I have read a lot of negative remarks and is that really how it is with no sign of improvement? I am sure the company/management is aware of the current situation with regards to the industry and the shortage of pilots everywhere. If they are really thinking about growing big, then what are they doing about it.

Can someone tell me what is happening!! don't want to get to an awful place to regret later.

What about things to do there for the family? anything much?

Let me know. Thanks

Hi ferre,

If you are with mas, suggest you stay put, or try Emirates or Etihad. Qatar's Ceo, AAB, is much worst than Mas's mighty camel. You would surely suffer. Just read the previous threads. Cheers

Thanks rapper,

I have surely read a few comments with regards to the famous CEO but I find it hard to believe (everything) that someone like him who wants the airline to grow would do such a thing to jeopardize the growth (most definitely).

Can someone tell me what the is this guy trying to do, is he not trying to be competitive in the airline industry??? I'm puzzled at this, they have oddered a number of aircraft and who is going to fly??? Hmmmmm!!!!

Ferre,

Things to do for a family:

If you have one day off, you can go to the desert.
If you have two days off in a row, you can go to the desert, stay there overnight, and come back the next day.

If I come up with anything else (which I doubt), I'll let you know.

Caio!!

Bangkok,

Are you with QR? In what sense is he a dictator? Is he the only one running the show over there? When you say its bad, how bad is it? Give me some examples. Thanks.

Ready,

Thanks alot for your help, I guess I'll bring my golf set along and practice my bunker shots with all the clubs in the bag (be ready for the next Qatar Masters or maybe even qualify for the Dubai Desert Classic)

Besides perfecting my bunker shots, how's the place in general?? I know I'm going to be really tan by the time I'm done at the "golf course".

What about the $$$$$$$, house, shopping, etc???????

Cheers!!

Ferre

I do not work in the aviation so cannot comment on specific issues but you had better believe that in this part of the world management can be every bit as bad as posters in the various threads have indicated. If you think things cannot be that bad.....prepare to be disappointed. Reread QR threads with this in mind.

As to Qatar itself it is more than 15 years since I lived there so I am out of date on specifics. It is still, no doubt, a bit of a backwater. If you are looking for excitement, nightlife etc. Go somewhere else! I must admit that I did enjoy my time there back in the 80's.

The golf course (grass one) is very good I believe, but membership is likely to be expensive. Sand golf is an alternative however......

Hope you get what you are looking for.
