Question Class 1 to Class 2

Does a class 1 medical automatically become a class 2 after it's renewell date or does it need to have a comment or stamp on it?

Thanks Jumbo

A class 1 certificate automatically covers class 2 privileges when it expires ( not on renewal ! ). Nothing needs to be added to the certificate. The class 2 period of validity is then the same as it would have been if it had been issued as a class 2 by the AME on the day of examination.
