If you decide to e-mail, make sure you include your home address otherwise they wont respond. I sent them a query via e-mail and recieved my answer in a letter a couple of weeks later. They aren't allowed to reply to e-mail because of confidentiality issues I think.

Thanks guys, needed to speak to the opthamologist. Left a message on his voicemail and he got back to me today.
From my little experience with them I can add to the previous comments and say the medical division of the CAA are great!

Just to add to this, I have e-mailed the CAA several times with queries relating to eyesight requirements and have received a response to each within a few days.
I had cause to speak to a guy at the medical division yesterday and he was most helpful and was able to answer all of my questions.
