broken collarbone
They didn't plate mine when I broke it. Consequently I've got a bump. The doctor in causalty said they didn't bother about men which I found a trifle sexist. Presumably if they had plated it would have produced a neater join - at the cost of increased discomfort I suspect!
It didn't cause any problem at my Class 1 medical though.

Have you had a CT scan yet? What did your GP say?
I find that most GPs don't know enough about orthopaedic surgery.
If there is no healing or callous formation, a plate may well be the answer and will not affect your med cat.
I have cross-clamped the aorta - I have control

Your break must be fairly serious. I fell off a motor bike and broke mine, but even though I had a hell of a cold and was sneezing throughout the healing period (and believe me broken collar bones and sneezing is a bundle of fun) but it still came together ok. Apparently they rarely do anything to then unless the ends fail to meet
