allowing the class 1 to lapse implications

I am currently doing my modular ATPL theory, and my class 1 medical annual renewal is due in a few weeks. As I wont be training for my CPL for a good 6 months yet, do I have to still get it renewed now or can I wait until I start my CPL training?? As in the mean time I have a class 2 medical still valid for the next 3 years so I can still bumble about in the usual C152 and PA-28 in the mean time.

any info much appriciated

yours

Funnily enough I am in exactly the same situation. My current class 1 expires on 11th October, so I haven't much time. I would appreciate it if you could forward any info you find.

By the way, which college are you using for your distance learning. I decided on Bristol GS and I have to say so far so good.

Regards,

Matt
