Initial Class 1 in Spain

Hi everybody,

I live in South of France and would like to apply for an initial medical class 1. I have contacted French AeMC to schedule an appointment, but the first one is in 8 months. I found out that the AeMC of Bilbao has a much shorter waiting period (approx. 3 weeks). However, from what I have read, the "mental health assessment" in Spain is carried out by an extensive questionnaire (Hamilton or Goldberg type). The results are not necessarily analysed and disclosed the same day. Hence, you do not know when you leave if you passed or failed the class 1. In another forum, some people even reported the need for additional test by a psychiatrist (few days / weeks after the examination at an insane price).

This type of questionnaire leaves a lot of room for interpretation and can lead to a request for additional tests (test remake, psychiatrist appointment...) or to incapacity.

Does anyone have any additional information to give about the "mental health assessment" in Spain? Am I overreacting by fearing this type of questionnaire? Did I properly understand the examination process?

Do you have a feedback to give about the AeMC "medical crew" of Bilbao?

Thanks !

No idea but just go for it. MOve forward. 8 months vs 3 weeks is a big difference. You could be back home on the next day or even the same.
