EASA Class 1 - Paperless?

Hi!

Couple of days ago I got my EASA Medical certificate but I forgot to ask some practical questions when I got it from the AME.
What happens if I lose the paper? I am living in a different country from the issuance country.
Can I use a copy in day-to-day line operations or do I always have to keep the original with me?
Is there any digital (app or website) version of the certificate, I tried the IAA site, but to no avail.

Pardon the questions, but I moved to Europe from a reality where all my documents (FCL and Medical) were readily available to download or view 24/7 as official PDFs with digitally authenticated signatures and QR codes.

TIA
BF

PS. The process for the initial was a breeze compared with my non-EU/ICAO country
