Class 1 Medical with Sleep Apnoea
All, thought I would just post this as this may be useful to some.
Had quite bad fatigue last year and had a sleep study that said I had mild sleep apnoea at AHI of 5.7 - I had a mandibular advancement splint (MAS) made by my dentist - all in cost £630 and my symptoms went away once I had it adjusted properly.
I then had a Class 1 Initial done and it was deferred to the CAA.
CAA came back and ordered another sleep test to be done with the MAS - so I ponied up £149 to have it done by Phillips Healthcare and told them I would be wearing the MAS so that the clinician put that in the notes - sent that report to CAA through my AME.
CAA has now issued my Class 1 with no restrictions - only a note in the letter that I must continue to use the MAS and inform them if I have any issues with fatigue later.
Hope this helps some people!
