incorrect licence number on medical

incorrect licence number on medical
Hello!
Has anybody run into this issue? I am holding a UK ATPL and had my medical renewed in Germany. I usually always double-check any paperwork, and I am still kicking myself for not having caught this error. The AME claims that he corrected the error before he had sent my medical file to Gatwick, but I still have a medical with an incorrect licence number.
Out of fun (not!), I contacted the AME branch of the German LBA and was told that licence corrections can ONLY be done by the mighty LBA themselves and that all the medical paperwork (the one currently being in Gatwick) had to be sent to them.
I also wrote CAA Medical but as of today have not received an answer.
Am I legal to exercise the privileges of my licence (ATPL)? (I am currently flying under my FAA licence)
