EASA Class 1 medical with OML

Can someone please confirm that a training captain with an OML endorsement is not permitted to carry out the base training on a multi crew aircraft. The base training consisting of 6 (normally) successful take-offs/landings prior to the issue of the specific aircraft type rating?
Can there be any exceptions?

As far as I understand, that is correct. During basetraining, the captain is considered to be able to fly the plane single-pilot as the trainee is not yet rated and current. An OML would restrict this. But... maybe I have been told wrong, in which case my company is doing it wrong too
