Question The worst thing that can happen...

What type of insurance do professional aircrew have in the event of medical failure? What are the most common reasons for medical failure leading to loss of career? I imagine they must be pretty serious, as my last class 1 renewal consisted of having my limbs counted, undercarriage checked and ensuring that my eyes were parallel (slight exaggeration but you get the picture).
