Although it is true that lasee trearment is not done when floaters are close to retina it may be possible to remove the other ones that are not so close. You should have second opinion as vitreoctamy is a surgery . You can consult the following clinic they specialise in laser treatment and decide accordingly.

Psychophysiological entity
It's very late so just a quick reply for now. Firstly assuming the vitreous humor is the cause of the floaters and by the sound of it, that's still NOT certain.
Having said a short note, I then went on to write all the below and then watch two of Scott Geller MD's films.
Nice man. Good kit. Strange philosophy in the second film. I'd have wanted that membrane out of the way. I had no idea they'd zap him for more than half an hour. So many bits floating about and all that energy going into what is technically a living organ, not just some sea water in which the detritus would fall to the bottom. But the thing is, I don't feel you have enough information to know what to do. Making assumptions and ruining the integrity of the membrane is something that should not happen unless there's no other option.
Your later post describing the annoying dark blob is surely possible to locate? Prior to this the fault seemed almost like my one at about your age. It is I supposed possible you have two separate problems.
I'm roughly repeating my post from the past so scrapped a lot of it.
Way back in 1965 I had a few weeks where in bright daylight the floaters were so extreme that I thought my career was over. It's odd, but at night it didn't seem too bad. It seemed my lifestyle at that time was causal. Masses of Scotch after flights and serious lack of care with the use of sunglasses. Back in the UK, it was found that there was some 'puddling' of the humor, which at that age should have been consistently gel-like. Rest, abstinence and lower sunlight, and I regained perfect eyesight for the next 35 years. Floaters due to Vitreous detachment are very different. The black blobs were fewer and much bigger. I also had the crescent moon flashes to one side. And primarily in one eye.
Your first post indicates both eyes. So what could be a likely cause for simultaneous symptoms?
My immediate reaction to these private clinics is one of suspicion It may not be deserved, but I've heard so many tales about problems of dealing with such practices. With a major hospital surgeons can call on consultants etc., etc. I'd want to know a great deal about any practice and individual surgeons before trusting them with my eyesight.
In other words, I'd want to do a lot of study before making such a decision. This has to be tempered with the danger of leaving anything tugging on its anchor point. It seems I'm not alone in not knowing just what is happening in your case.
