Good news for Type 1 Diabetics
Good news for diabetics.
My son who is 14 is learning to fly a glider and can solo as soon as he is awarded a medical.
The CAA are treating this very appropriately and have asked for clinical reports, eyesight tests, blood sugar records, and a medical flight test before he seen by their consultant who will make a recommendation.
Gradually all the boxes are being ticked. If this is awarded then I think this will be a first for a young student.
Good news that the CAA are assessing the risk individually and not just a blanket ban.
