Class 1 Renewal Tips

I have my annual medical next month and I seem to recall various words of wisdom on the best way to pass. Would an AME care to comment on the validity of the techniques below or have any other useful tps for a stress-free visit to the doctor:

I remember being advised to provide urine sample from mid-stream?

Avoid sugary breakfast on the day of the test?

Avoid eating before the medical and attend in a slightly starved state?

Keep warm?

Obviously avoid alcohol beforehand but how many days? Granted, giving up the day befor wouldn't work for Rab C Nesbitt!

Any others? Are these old wives tales?

Many thanks.

Sorry we doctors know about all your tricks. They won't work

Seriously if you could hide pathology that would cause you to lose your license by not getting p***** the night before we would have aircraft falling out of the sky every day

If you are reasonably well the chances of failing are slim

Good luck

the mid stream stuff is to do with avoiding "false positives" when looking for infection under the microscope, so pretty sure it won't make much difference.

The sugary / starvation bit shouldn't make much difference in a healthy chap.

Being cold / hungover could increase your bp in theory.

Experience on here suggests that the starting point for AME's is to actaully pass you

good luck, ginge.

(for the record Non doctor)

Thanks. Always good to separate fact from fiction.
