Does Class 1 invalidate Class 2
Hi
Please could someone tell me whether, by getting my class 1 medical now I will invalidate my FAA 61.75 'Piggyback' PPL which is based on my current class 2 medical?
Does the class 2 remain in effect alongside the class 1 or will it be superceded.
Regards

Are you talking about a FAA or a JAA class 1?
If it is JAA it will not invalidate you FAA class 2, if they are both either FAA or JAA it does not matter, becuase with a class 1 you can fly even as private pilot in your free time.

Whatever keeps the folks back home happy. Your FAA 61.75 is based on your foreign license, it has to be current and valid. Looking through the FSIMS (the FAA Inspectors guide) you can use your foreign medical with your 61.75 certificate. Your foreign license and medical just have to allow (at least) private pilot privileges.
