Post BA Medical Reqts Disparity

It seems to me that folk who frequent this forum have all the answers when it comes to medical issues.

BA have medical requirements which are more stringent than those set by the JAA, particularly now that the general class 1 standards have been lowered. I refer specifically to their eyesight requirements. I have heard a faint rumour that BA are no longer insisting upon this and that they will accept current holders of a class 1. Do any of you know if there is any truth in this. It would certainly make my week if this were the case. Also are BA being discriminatory by insisting on these standards?

Cheers
