FAA First Class Medical
I would like to know how I get my US FAA first class medical to be valid for 12 months...
I have seen a few pilots medical from certain airlines stating in the limitations section "First class privileges valid for 12 months, not valid for any class thereafter"
It is a pain having to do my FAA every 6 and my JAA every 12.

Not an AME, but :
Pilot Medical Certification Questions and Answers says you can exercise privileges requiring a First Class Medical for 12months, so long as you are not yet 40 years of age. That's the way I always understood it.
