Unhappy Class 1

Jeez...what's happening in Europe? So basically it's impossible for me to fly commercially in Europe while I can do that in the US? My eyes are (-5.5 and -5.0)
Australia seems alright with me, I have their CLASS 1 medical at the moment. Strange rules.....
Do you know of a website for me to go to get more information?

Thanks a lot my friend!!

Hi,

Take a look at the JAA website:
http://www.jaa.nl/jar/jar/jar/jar.fcl.3.1.b.3.220.htm

This gives you the visual reqirements needed to hold a Class1 medical.

Also look ar www.srg.caa.co.uk

Under flight crew/medical/documents.....this gives CAA info.

Happy landings

Barney,

Thanks for the info!

Man, I think I can just forget about getting a job as a airline pilot in the UK!! sob sob
due to my eyes of -5.5 and -5.0 !!

What is the difference between the CAA Class 1 and the JAA Class 1 ?

From what I have read in the website, it seems that the JAA requirements are not more than -3.0 !!!! sob sob sob....

ANy advice? Please?

My advice, take your questions to the Medical & Health forum. That's what it's for.
