I am currently awaiting details myself for a scheme via BALPA which costs approx £500 a year and would give cover of approx £100,000.
However it depends on your age.It has an exclusion period for claims just after you take out the policy but this can be reduced by paying a slightly higher initial premium.
I know several people at work who have it.
Best thing would be to contact BALPA or ask a member to find out more for you - it is not just available to members.
