Question What do you tell your Doctor

Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

I am sometimes a bit wary in what I tell my GP, just incase in the future it affects my chance of getting a Class 1 medical (I hold an Aussie Class 2).

Do the Aviation Medical Examiners get your records from your GP, or do they just assess you on your performance on the day??

Any comments welcome
Cheers

Professional ethics preclude the sharing of information from one GP to another.

Having said that then 'Honesty is still the best policy'. Always tell the truth because it will come out in the end.

If you have something to hide perhaps it would be best for all concerned that you remained a private pilot!

You don't have to be in perfect health - none of us are, but you do have to be healthy

It is best to be honest with them. There is a clause that says you must divulge all pertinant medical facts and histories. If you don't, you can be charged. They just love taking medicals from people who aren't truthful.

What I meant was, that if I'm feeling a little crook I don't like to go to my GP. incase I am wrongly diagnosed with something that may affect a future medical.

Not lying or omitting anything when I have an actual medical!!!!!
