Time between ECG validity and medical validity?

Quick question,
My Class 1 medical expires on 7/9/10 however I need my 5 yearly ECG on 5/7/10, will I have to take my full medical before 5/7/10, or is there a grace period where I can wait till 7/9/10 before renewing everything.
IAA Licence with a CAA medical at the moment

Thanks
