Gap between Class 1 and Airline Medicals ?
Hello,
Although a class 1 could possibly be granted to a mild asthma sufferer, would a BA cadet or Aer Lingus trainee pilot pass the initial Company Medical ?
I have used asthma above, but it could extend to many other things, eyes etc..
Maybe holding a Class 1 will make you legal, but will not make you employable........
Perhaps holding a Class 1 may only cause heartache further down, and 50,000UKP, down the road.
Discuss.
Thanks,
Rob99

Good question, Rob99.
I would be very intrested to know this too.
I have my initial class 1 med soon and am under the(mis?)conception that the biggest uncontrollable hurdle will be over should I pass.
If this is the case that airline medicals are sudstantially more rigoruos(apoligies for my spelling!)then we really do need to know because it is yet another factor to consider before paying for our training.
Come on, someone should know!
Thanks, VFE.
