Exclamation CAA class 1 medical renewal

Hi
Need some advice
I had a CAA class 1 medical which expired in Dec 2000.
I was unable to renew it at that time due to "lack of funds" However i now wish to renew my medical (Have a job!!!)
Is it a simple task or do i need to go down to Gatwick again and pay the CAA lots of money!!!
Have checked the CAA website BUT could not find a straight answer?

Thankyou in advance

Hi!
I had the same problem last september. My problem was bigger than yours.Cause I'm living in Turkey and my reason to renew my CAA medical was to convert my frozen ATPL to CAA ATPL.
Luckily CAA was very helpful to me.
What they say is if you've done your first medical in Gatwick, then you can do your following medicals in one of the CAA approved medical centres.
What you have to do is call them and get the phone numbers of the CAA approved medical centres in your area.
I've done mine in London which cost me 90 Pounds
Good luck in your new job!

I believe you can leave it for 2 years, but I'm not certain of the time limit. But if yours was in Dec 2000 you're definitely OK.

Just an aside, the medical reverts to a class 2 if the class one isn't renewed.
