Post how long does the CAA/JAA class one last?

If i was to get a class one medical this year, how long would it be valid before i would need to renew it?

Does age come into account in renewal intervals?

Also how much does the renewal cost, another 400 pounds?

JAA Class 1 is valid for 1 year for people of our age. Once over 40 odd, it's every 6 months.
Renewals are NOT 400 quid - you only pay that for the initial examination.
My advice - GO GET ONE ASAP.
