ATC Medical question

Hi lads,

just a quick one, I unfortunately have perforated eardrums due to constant ear-aches I used to get as a child , my hearing is actually top notch in all other respects with very little loss in hearing that I know of.

Would that come under an automatic fail for an ATC medical exam?

Bill

If your hearing is within the range required by the medical, then I can't see why having a perforated eardrum(s) will make a difference - you are not going to be working in a pressurised area, even in the highest ATC tower!

For a definitive answer, contact the medical branch of the licensing agency for the country you live in, the number should be in the book. Good luck
