Post Height to Weight

I know that BA say that your height and weight have to be in proportion for CEP but does anybody have any figures for this? I weigh 90kilos and am 6ft tall but I am of quite big build and do lots of sport (eg cycle every day). I just need to know that BA wouldn't think I was too lardy! Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

If you take the guideline that you get taught for the jaa exams (yawn)

weight(kg) divided by (height(m) x height(m))

for you you

90 / (1.83 * 1.83) = 26.8

a result of < 20 means you're under weight
>25 over weight
>30 obese

These figures are for a blokes i don't have the ones for girls

Hope this helps

wobblyprop,

I just checked out that formula and I got:

50/(1.72 * 1.72) = 16.9

(Under 20 is under weight)

Does this mean I don't pass the medical!!!
I am not that far off!

Does age matter because I am under 20.

BMI (body mass index) is meant to be a predictor of death through heart disease.
20-25 = Factor of 1
25-30 = Factor of 2
30-35 = Factor of 4
However, other factors are more important in the equation, eg not smoking and choosing your parents well!
Sorry cannot answer your question (pass or fail), however as a clinician, I would hazard a guess that your BMI is quite insignificant. I have 2 suggestions,
a) contact BA and ask them
b) work the BMI equation backwards and work out how much you have to lose...shouldn't be too difficult. Cheers and good luck!
