Question Question about diuretic drinks

Can someone explain what differences alcohol and caffeine have in the urinary cycle. I notice I can usually polish off half a dozen pints before breaking the seal, but after drinking coffee, I'm at the head within half an hour...other people claim its the other way around. Any medical reasons for this (prostate on the way out or something?).

Cool

I'm the same. One Coffee and 20 minutes later, standing at the urinal. A few pints, over an hour and a half. Not sure what it means though. I'll ask my Aunt who is a doctor.

Wink

Hey fellas,

The drug Caffeine is a diuretic, plain and simple. It's not the most effective one, but it makes your body drop water none the less. It's got a bunch of other properties too obviously...

A diuretic is a substance (drug, herb, and I believe some carbohydrate derivatives) that makes your body lose water, i.e. you gotta pee!

Nothing in beer has this effect, so you can go longer on it than say Coke or Redbulls, etc.

Hope that's of some help.
