Post Is Gatwick only venue for Class 1 Medicals

Are there any other centres other than Gatwick to do a class 1 medical??
Any in Scotland??
Also would an Irish Class 1 valid for a UK licence?

Thanks

I pressume nothing has changed since I had my initial Class 1.

The initial has to be done buy the Doctors at Gatwick. Now, at the cost of about 400 quid I believe, plus the travel to LGW, all makes for an expensive day out!

Once you have the Class 1 you can go to any local CAA approved Doctor (AME). Lists can be found on the CAA website.

Hope it helps

Question

Determined,

Are you saying that you can get an INITIAL class 1 in Ireland? I am under the impression from the medical department at Gatwick that the initial can only be conducted there, and once you have the initial out of the way the next one can be done by any CAA AME.

Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Yep,

I've answered this before. Initial can be done in Dublin and the CAA approved doctors will give you a CAA Class 1 on top of your IAA Class 1 for an extra £75 or so. Here's the link to the previous thread: http://www.pprune.org/cgibin/ultimat...c&f=2&t=010142

Regards,
Determined.
