There is a full class 1 and 2 medical certification protocol shown on the Caa medical section. It shows clearly what tests need to be completed in order to obtain a medical when you have a pacemaker. If an individual meets the medical requirements it apears that you can have a full class 2 certificate.

Hope this helps

Correct,I had a pacemaker fitted last March.
Provided I reached the parameters clearly set out in the CAA info I could fly PPL.
The tests were going to cost around £7-800 per year so I've gone down the NPPL route
Not sure if you can do that with rotary though?

Class 1 or 2 medicals relate to both Fixed wing and rotary, it is the same certificate required for either activity

No not so far as i am aware. Although i understand that there is an Nppl course in Italy using an R22 with some kind of weight saving modifications that make it an microlite type of weight.
