European Class 3 Medical

Now that the CAA UK ATCO Class 1 has changed to a European Class 3 (which appears to be essentially the same, but with different validity periods of the individual aspects of the Medical), is there still a requirement to attend another Medical after the Initial one for the purposes of ATCO training?

I have my Medical in Swanwick on Friday, and have not yet been informed of any subsequent Medicals I will be required to attend. I do not hold any Certificates at present.
