A bit concerned

Hello all, looking for a bit of advice here.

About a week ago I noticed a small hard lump about half the size of a pea just underneath the right corner of my jaw under my skin, which had seemingly appeared overnight out of nowhere. At first it was very tender to touch but about 3 days later all pain had disappeared completely, however the wee lump is still there and hasn't changed in size or form at all.

Since it's been just over a week now, naturally I'm growing a little concerned about it so I thought I'd get it checked. Had a word with the nurse at work last week, she was baffled by what it could be but told me to see a doc if it wasn't gone by the start of this week, so that's what I'll try and do tomorrow. No other symptoms at all so I'm just as clueless as to what it could be, if anything.

Any other advice from any of the Med bods around here? Would appreciate any comments.

Cheers
