Revalidating class 1

Hi,
My class 1 medical is due to expire next month but i was thinking of using the class 2 privilages for a while as im not using the class 1 at the moment.

My question is that if i decide to convert back to the class 1 from the class 2 do i just go to my local AME or do i have to go back to Gatwick. Also in this case will they have to go through the whole medical checks as at the initial.

Thank You

The CAA website seems unclear on who can "renew" rather than "revalidate", but my understanding (as a pilot, not an AME) is that any AME can do both.

The best thing to do is talk to a local AME. The CAA list is here:
