CAA Class 1 medical lapsed

To all you who know.

My CAA class 1 medical has just expired as a class 1, I now have another year as class 2 privaleges.

My question is, as I do not need a class 1 for more than the next year, how long is it until I can just do a class 1 renewal without having to go to Gatwick for another Initial?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Sorry for the delay in replying, Tel, I only just saw your post.

Up to 5 years from date of expiry and you only need an Extended Class 1 Medical.

Over 5 years and it's an Initial Class 1 Medical.

Saying that, knows what will happen when the rules under EASA are changed.

HTH
