Thanks Tony, interesting paper, although slightly dated now.As far as I can see, two of the tests mentioned aren't carried out routinely now.

Screening is notorious for it's faults. The present system for making sure pilots don't suddenly die whilst flying planes (the whole purpose of this zoo), has it's limitations.

I once remember taking my 'eld MGB (GT)for a service and MOT. As I paid the bill,the mechanic told me everthing was rinky dink, next day the fecker broke down.

It's the best we've got, but as the paper notes, we continue to refine things.
