Angry VAT on medicals

Apologies if this has been covered before....

I have just had my annual Class 1 renewal and was advised that our medicals are now subjected to VAT. Seems that because we see the AME for 'certification' and not 'health care' aviation medicals can no longer be VAT exempt.

Another 'stealth' tax.

Disgusting

I agree!!

Thankfully the company now pays for mine. As an Instructor, my last medical renewal would have cost two weeks' wages.
