Change in circumstance

I currently hold a clss 2 medical, and when last done, passed all ok. I currently have another 10 months to go before it needs renewing.

Recently I have noticed that my eyes get tired and I have trouble with small fonts in poor light, etc. If I go to an optician, and it is deemed that I need specs, do I have to notify my AME at the same time, or do I just bring them out at my next medical?

Secondly, does the "2 glasses in the cockpit" rule still apply?

Thanks

Yes you do. If you read the conditions of the medical, you must inform the authority (AME or AMC) as soon as you have regular use of correcting lenses. Its on the back of the medical cert.

and yes to the 2nd question if you need glasses. If you need glasses then you need to have a 2nd pair accessible when flying.
