Aviation exclusion on medical grounds!??

Hi all,
I recently applied for an income protection policy with a major provider.
After a 6 month process the application has been accepted, but unfortunately:
1. The initial quoted premium has bene loaded by 50%
2. Any claims due to aviation are excluded.
They tell me the aviation exclusion is due to my medical history, not the activity itself.
The only unusual medical history I had a a short spell of stress related depression 4 years ago, and a past history of elevated BP (no longer).
Does a history of stress/depression/bp mean I uninsurable whilst flying (btw: I have a Class One medical)
Any insights?, should I query/challenge the exclusion or is this the "norm"?

i would call to another company and enquire what they would do...

What do they exclude?

Income generated by flying and lost due to depression?

Or

Depression which is a result of flying?

Neither makes a bit of sense at all. Write to them to get a clarification. The loading is very much likely to be due to your flying and previous history of depression.
