Post 40 Class 1 Renewal
Now that I've reached the grand age of 40, can someone please explain how my JAR Class 1 is renewed at the 6 month point?
I'm in the military but keep the license ticking over - the ECG, audiogram, etc are all in date as they have a 12 month+ limit but the certificate is only valid for 6 months. Is it a case of sending more money to the CAA or do I need to be re-examined? I'm out the country now and can't ask my doc!!
Thanks.

As at the 1st December 2006 the rules changed. Now if you are part of a multi-crew your Class 1 medical is valid for one year, if you operate as a single crew then it will only be valid for 6 months. You will obviously need to ensure that your ECG & Audio. etc are all up to date and in in sync.
It is all on the CAA/SRG website.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply, Capt.
Found the CAA website now and as I understand it, my Class 1 is only valid for 6 months as it was done before 1 Dec 06, yet the ECG, etc are valid for one year
Guess its just a matter of bringing them all in sync, as you suggest.
