Question Class 1 or 2

Hi I have a CAA pplh and a number of years ago upgraded my class 2 medical to a class 1 in order to start my cplh. Now a number of years down the line due to family commitments etc my cplh is on hold and I continue to fly privatley.Due to my age I need to renew my class 1 every six months and this is expensive.I think I,m right in saying I can extend the period and lapse back to class 2 priviliges but if I do how can i get a class 1 again when required ?.Will I have to go back to Gatwick and start all over again or can I get the class re instated ?.

You should be able to get your class 1 renewed without having to take another class 1 initial.

The validity periods to class 1 medicals are just that, once expired they become none current until you renew them

Hope this helps
