Flying with my eyes closed? TheCAA!

Hi Guys,

Thought I'd run this one by you all. I went to the opticians today to check my Pre-Lasik and post-Lasik vision. My pre op was a terrible -8.75 in each eye and my post op has been stable at a good quality (at worst -0.5) for 3 years. I spoke to the CAA who said that although I am out of the pre-op standard (-5.0) I should send my details and reports in along with a report from the surgeon stating the quality and stability of my eyes. I thought I would put this up as I am a little confused? Does the fact that I am outside of the pre-op standard not necessarily mean that I will not be able to achieve a Class 1 medical.
Has anybody had any similar experience and if so what has the outcome been? Will I still be able to get a class 1 or a deviated Class 1?
I appreciate all of your help in advance.
