Any Way Around It?

I am 28 and have wanted to get my pilots license for quite some time. However, I am on an SSRI and deal with depression and anxiety. Until recently I had not looked in to the FAA's rules on both the meds and conditions. And needless to say I was fairly dissapointed.

I have heard of pilots getting waivers on their medical from being bipolar, so I am guessing there is a way around it (legally of course) but in rare cases.

Has anyone ever dealt with this and been successful maintaining their certificate? If so, how??
