loss of license insurance
Hi all ,
Presently working for a low cost operator in the UK , which does not supply loss of license insurance . I applied for this insurance through BALPA , the reply I recieved was puzzling . Yes they would provide insurance , however , the stipulation was , no cover for any heart problems . I contacted BALPA regarding this and they said it was standard to enforce this resrtiction where a person's body mass index fell within a certain band .
OK , I am approx 3kg overweight , but , the main problems pilots have with medicals is when it comes time for your ECG . Therefore , what is the point in paying high premiums if it does not cover this .
Fair enough , the solution is to shed this weight over a period of time .
In the mean time , does anyone know of any insurance companies or brokers who offer loss of license insurance . Paying a higher premium for this extra weight , one can accept .
Any info would be greatly appreciated .
