JAA Class 1 with Deviation - affect on job prospects?

Hi - I have just been issued my JAA Class 1 Medical but I have a long-term deviation (13 SSL DEV). I had laser surgery (pre-class 1) and my pre-op prescription was outside initial issue but within renewal hence the long-term deviation. Ironically I now have 6/6 so do not need glasses...

Can anyone from within the industry enlighten me as to any affect this long-term deviation may have on my future employment as a First Officer? I will be a late 30's, low hours frozen ATPL with not a great deal of flying hours but load of aviation and airspace experience (will be ex-ATC).

Any pointers, thoughts, or advice would be most useful (except telling me not to bother being a pilot - I have heard this before, usually from fellow air trafficers or FJ mates).

Many thanks
