Canadian C1 Med
I've done a search, but my question is quite unique.
I need to do a Canadian CLASS1 medical at Gatwick. Sure I could phone, but I think that posting here and receiving a response will help others too.
How much is it, as I can't find prices on the net. Also, what is the expiary date for a C1 Medical? Is the Canadian one different to the JAR?
Thank you in advance,
Dan

Hi,
My class 1 medical has always cost me $90 CDN having it done locally. The class 1 is good for a year if under 40, 6 months if 40 and over. I have never been asked to provide a copy of my eye prescription, othewise I believe it is very similar to the JAR medical.

It's not exactly Gatwick but if ya takes the 'el cheapo' flight down to Prague, you might get it done for a fraction of the cost and still get tanked after the medical.
Seriously...here's a link. You might want to give Dr. Truska a call. http://www.ulz.cz/en/index.htm
He's a very nice guy with Canadian credentials, I think he did a stint at one of the UK hospitals for a number of years so English is very very good for a local.
Good luck

Hi Tonic
I did my initial Canadian C1 in the uk, try this link for someone nearby.
http://www.tc.gc.ca/aviation/applica...s.asp?x_lang=e
Info at
http://www.tc.gc.ca/civilaviation/Re...tandard424.htm
Cost
See 21

This is a process fee only.
The medical exam is charged by the doctor $90CD sounds about right, much less than the CAA.
Similar exam to the JAR but suprised at no hearing test. Hope this helps.
