Question Initial Class 1 and Lasik Surgery?

Hi All,

Thinking of going for Lasik surgery in the near future. I currently wear glasses with a prescription of -3.25d in each eye so my understanding is that I am currently within the pre-operative refraction limit to obtain a Class 1.

The JAR Class1 Initial Examinations guidelines document states that:

Class 1 certification will be considered three months after a Lasik procedure.
And a further review at Gatwick will be required a year later.

If I decide to apply for an initial Class 1 medical, 3 months after having Lasik will this mean that the Class 1 will have a restriction on it for a period of one year ?

I would be very grateful if someone could shine some light on this.

Many Thanks.
