Will eyes be worn out with age?

hi guys, just need to ask about eyes.

i have passed my class one medical in july at gatwick medical centre. i managed to passed the eyes, but i am not too sure that will i pass it in future time. Cos i know that eyes will get worse when you get older, is it true? would playing too much computer games damage has some effect, or reading too closely?

please help, i don't want to be happily passed my medical in my early life and know that i won't be able to pass it in future's time. cos i know these eyes will not improve but get worse. And, i know that laser treatment is avail. but some experts say it is not recommended.

All comments are happily accepted!

I should imagine that the medical examiners take into account the fact that most bodily functions, gradually deteriorate with age, so I shouldn't worry too much.

I've not heard of a link between computer games and deteriorating eyesight.

There was a myth that indulging in too much self gratification can ruin your eyesight. Apparently its untrue, but if it were true, you could indulge a little, and wear glasses

Steady degradation of visual accommodation, that is, weakening of the eye muscles with increasing age, is common. After your first glasses for near vision, you'll probably have to increase the strength progressively over the years. Vision, per se, is unaltered, just the accommodation becomes a problem requiring stronger specs with the passage of time. And then one day.....when you get really old (like me) your eyes have run to 'full adjustment', and won't (can't) get any worse, and you save money in not having to replace your specs every year or two.

That's the ageing situation, not to be confused with other eye problems like glaucoma that MIGHT be a problem, usually appearing in older age.
